The rate is scheduled to drop 0.25 point a year to 3.75% (2027), 3.5% (2028), 3.25% (2029) and 3.0% (2030), with further revenue-triggered cuts after that. What this calculator does not include
Ignores the $1,500 exemptions for each dependent, age 65+ or blindness (the head-of-family $8,000 assumes at least one dependent, whose own $1,500 is excluded here), itemized deductions, retirement-income exclusions and credits. On a married joint/combined return where both spouses have income, each spouse's taxable income gets its own $10,000 at 0% (Tax Computation Schedule Columns A and B), so two-earner couples can shelter up to $20,000; the married brackets here assume a single $10,000 band. The calculator also leaves out dependents, tax credits, additional withholding on your W-4 and non-wage income. Your employer's withholding can differ from your final tax bill.
