How Louisiana taxes your paycheck

Since 2025 Louisiana taxes individual income at a flat 3% (Act 11 of the 2024 Third Extraordinary Session), with a large standard deduction replacing the old brackets and personal exemption. Starting in 2026 the standard deduction is indexed to CPI-U, and LDR's 2026 withholding tables use $12,875 for single filers and $25,750 for joint and head-of-household filers, up from $12,500 / $25,000. Employers withhold at 3.09%, slightly above the 3% liability rate, and federal income tax is not deductible.
